There is no age limit to get a Samoan Tattoo but if you are wise you will know when you are ready, the recommended age is around 25 years to 35 years old. This age represents maturity and strength, but it is entirely up to the individual.

This tradition should never be taken for granted because if you do, then you will be the one who will suffer. I got my Samoan Tattoo at the age of 29; I had recently married and had no children. I wanted it done at this time of my life because I felt strong and confident and I wanted my children to grow up seeing it on me as if it were natural. I didn't want my children to see the pain of how it was applied and how physically and mentally demanding the strain was on their mother and me.
